Type 1 is an ideal product to use as a stable sub-base for many different applications such as driveways and paths.

Type 1 is a crushed aggregate material ranging in size from 40mm all the way down to dust.

The variation in size means that the material will fill all of the voids when compacted, creating a stable sub-base.

Type 3 has been produced to create a reduced fines aggregate but not zero fines.

To look at this product it is very similar to type 1, but from a technical specification they are very different.

This product is fully certified according to the Specification for Highway Works.

This is the most widely used sub-base where reduced fines are required such as sub-bases for sports pitches, equestrian arenas, driveways and tennis courts where blockage of drains is an issue with conventional type 1.

6F5 is an aggregate usually composed of crushed limestone or granite although other quarried materials are used. Sizes range from 100mm down to dust.

6F5 capping is mainly used as a sub-base for roads and buildings although it has many other uses such as piling mats and general backfill.

The coarse nature of 6F5 makes it a very good all-in-one product which when compacted forms a hard-wearing surface.

6F5 capping is ideal as an initial layer of hardcore before being finished off with a layer of type 1 sized material.

A mixture of rounded and angular gravel washed and passed through various screens to produce a consistent 10mm gravel/shingle free of fines.

20mm gravel/shingle consists of various angular and rounded stones that have been washed to remove fines and passed through various screens, to create a 20mm gravel/shingle.

Building sand is the most common sand used in the construction industry for making render and mortars due to its fine particle size it creates a smooth easily worked product.

A dry-screened sand, commonly known as “fill sand” or “cable sand”.

Fill sand is ideal for trench backfill as well as a bedding layer when using membranes or as a blinding layer prior to pouring concrete.

This product is not sold in any specific colour and colour will vary depending on the delivery location.
